Himmelberg Maternity

It's not every day you get to photograph your best friend's maternity session, but celebrating sweet Nora Grace in Arkansas a few weeks ago gave me the chance to do just that!  Molly and Mark are due any day now and I.CANNOT.WAIT. It has been so fun--even from a distance--to watch these two--er, THREE--grow over the past 10 months.  Nora Grace is beyond blessed with these two as her parents and I am equally blessed to call them friends. Enjoy!

As if one pregnancy weren't exciting enough, Molly & Mark's sweet friends, John & Ashley ALSO announced their pregnancy this weekend! I was honored to snap a few announcement shots for them and capture some "best friend maternity" photos (that's a thing, right? ;)).  So excited for you, John & Ashley!

And, of course, not to be left out: Big Brother Truman. :)

Valentine's Day Mini Sessions!

Holy Canoli. It has been a LONG time since I've updated this blog! The final months of 2015 were insanely busy, but I am incredibly thankful for YOU for making it that way! 2015 was just absolutely a blast and I am so thankful that all of you continue to trust me with capturing your family's most precious memories.

Before I post some of the sessions from the end of last year, I figured I would kick off my return to the blog with some of my favorite shots from the Valentine's Day Mini Sessions I held in January.  You guys, these were SO much fun; to the families that participated, I hope you enjoyed them as much as I did! Based on the success of these sessions this year, I definitely plan on repeating this again in 2017.  Enjoy!

First up, Miss Adleigh Ann, or, to most, "Punkie." This girl has been behind my camera countless times since she was just a few days old. It has been an honor watching her grow into the sweet, sassy, smart girl she is today.

Next: Emma! Emma is the daughter of one of my oldest friends (as in, from birth).  It'd been awhile since we'd seen each other and I loved this opportunity to both photograph Emma and catch up with her mama!

Willow! This girl has a BIG personality and is so much fun to photograph. Willow's mama is an excellent photographer herself, so I was thrilled when she asked to participate in these mini sessions! 

The Dowdles are three of the most kind-hearted children I know.  Alex & Ben are such great big brothers to Anna and she clearly adores both of them! 

Jaylan is another cutie that I've had to chance to photograph previously! She wasn't so sure about this setup at first, but we got some smiles by the end of our time together! :)

Sweet Parker was my youngest valentine of the weekend.  At just 3 months, it's amazing the smiles this little man can produce! He had to start off serious, of course, to keep up appearances ;).

The weekend ended with this blond haired, blue eyed BIG boy who I haven't seen since he was itty bitty!  Emmett is the son of two good old friends of mine and, again, it was great to be able to use our session to catch up!  Emmett rocked these photos, though. As in, child model rocked it. Just sayin'. 

Poor Amy was sick on the day of her scheduled Valentine's shoot, but we managed to make it up the following weekend! And, clearly, she was feeling much better! Look at that smile!

That's it, folks! It was a whirlwind weekend, but oh so much fun. I loved seeing all of these kiddos--even just briefly--and catching up with their families.

Linch Family

I have photographed this family for several years now and let me tell you guys, I have LOVED watching these boys from behind the camera.  Austin is such an attentive big brother for Brody and watching Brody grow to idolize Austin has been so adorable.  Last year, Brody was still a little timid for photos, but this year? As a big 2 year old? He was LOVING it.  It was so sweet how both boys loved to cheese for the camera! But enough of me talking...enjoy!

These photos were taken at Fort Benjamin Harrison State Park, where Lisa and Justin got married a little over 7 years ago.  They have a wedding photo kissing on this bridge, so it was super special to recreate this moment with their two kiddos so many years later!

Bates Family

The Bates family and I had a beautiful day for photos last month!  It was so fun to see Vivian again after her newborn photos 6 months ago!  She has turned into one sweet, beautiful, and VERY easy going little girl--the perfect combination for photo-taking :).  Enjoy!

Pace Family

The Pace Family and I had one SUPER hot day for photos a few weeks ago, but these four were troopers through the heat!  Lainey and Aubrey are twins who truly, truly love each other (as in, no cueing required for hugging photos with these two!) and their parents clearly love them both so much.  Enjoy!

Emily Nicole: Newborn

I've been fortunate enough to photograph this family a few times prior to this session and we always get some great shots!  Miss Emily is such a cutie who she was so great for our session and she has such a great sister in Hailey, who was quite the curious helper during our time together :).  Enjoy, everyone!

Gibson Family

The Gibson family is very near and dear to my heart.  I met Katie as my supervisor for my medical externship almost over 4 years ago when she was just coming back from maternity leave after having her first child, Sam.  Now, with the addition of Caroline, the Gibson family is always a group I look forward to photograph!  Enjoy!

I had two very faithful helpers.  Sam was insistent upon carrying my "lunch box" and Caroline was willing to carry one of my lenses cases until it got too heavy. :)

Newport Family

When I first met the Newport family a few years ago, I encountered one of the most fun-loving, energetic, LITERALLY up-for-anything families.  Then, with two sweet & super spunky boys, Amy & Andrew were perfect examples of adults who know how to both parent and befriend their children.  Now, with their newest addition Abby Rose, this family continues to be as fun-loving and energetic as before.  Enjoy!

Another special family in my life! I know Meg from our daycare-working days in college (which, still, is the best job I've ever had).  She and Kirby are high school sweethearts and their sweet little one, Copeland, makes them a perfect family of three.  Their photos were on a warm, July day and Copeland, though not initially thrilled about photos, warmed up and gave us some great material :).  Enjoy!

Edmondson Family

I have had the privilege of photographing these three kiddos twice now and I was so excited when their mom contacted me again this year.  This trio is always a hoot and when 2 out of 3 kids come running out to greet you in the driveway, you know it's going to be a good day (in Avery's defense, she isn't walking yet...;)).  Enjoy!

Jack's the oldest of the group, so it's fitting to start with him on this post.  He's a super sweet, well-behaved boy and SUCH a good brother to Reid & Avery!  And look at that 100 watt SMILE!

Miss Avery is the youngest and this was really her show since she had recently celebrated her 1st birthday!

Lauren & Mark: Maternity

I'm a little behind schedule in posting these photos, but, for once, I'm happy that I hadn't yet put these up because something very interesting has happened since this day!  Lauren, Mark, & I met up a few weeks ago and they were so fun to photograph.  They were SO excited about their baby girl.  Yesterday, Mark and Lauren delivered their baby and, as fate would have it, IT'S A BOY! Mackenzi & Ross: Maternity
