Lyanna Grace: Newborn

I sincerely LOVE photographing newborns. They’re all adorable and I count it a privilege to have the opportunity to photograph each and every one. That being said, I have to admit that I’m pretty biased to sweet little Lyanna. Born September 22, Lyanna is my newest little NIECE and she couldn’t be more perfect! I was SO excited to get her in the studio and she was a total trooper for her session!

Bill Leroy: 14 Months

Sweet baby Bill was just a newborn last time I photographed him, but my oh my has he grown into SUCH a handsome little man! He was all smiles from the moment we started until…he bounced forward right on his chin :(. The rest of the session was hit or miss with lots of fun bribes from Mom and Dad and lots of running in circles (literally!) from me, but you’d never know it from these shots!

Emma: 16 months

Sweet Emma and I have known each other for awhile, but this is the first time I’ve gotten to photograph her! We had the perfect morning for photos and I think early morning sessions may be my new favorite! Check out that sunlight on her little curls! Mom had just planned on this being Emma’s session, but a family member convinced her to take a few of the two of them together and I was more than happy to oblige :). Enjoy!

Madilyn Jane: 3 months

It’s not often that a 13lb baby comes in for a newborn session, but, hey, COVID has changed a lot of things , am I right? :). Madilyn was born riiiiight as the world was shutting down so it wasn’t until June that we were able to get her in for her “newborn” session! Even as a 3 month old, she did an amazing job and we captured so many smiles, many thanks in part to big brother James and big sister Vivian!

Bates Family,

Thanks for being so patient in getting these done. I’m so glad you were able to make it into the studio and that I had the opportunity to capture Madilyn’s sweet smiles, not unlike those of her siblings! Looking forward to seeing her again in a few months!

Summers Family

The Summers family has been in front of my camera for over 3 years now and I swear, their sessions get more fun every.single.time. Mama Ashley and I worked together for a bit and it has been such a pleasure getting to know her sweet little family (including pup Randy!). And how amazing are their bright, colorful outfits?! This session also marked sweet Clara’s 1st birthday (just a little late thanks to COVID)!

Sweet Ellie is just the best big sister. She’s a perfect mix of smart, funny, and carefree!

Middle sister Quinn is not only a total beauty, but has such a fun, bold personality. I mean look at those hands on her hips!

And more of baby Clara! She’s totally in love with the family dog (and CCI therapy dog!) Randy, so we had to capture their relationship in front of the camera :)

And I think it’s safe to say that all three girls have Chris 100% wrapped around their little fingers!

Britta Rae: Newborn

Baby girl #2 of 2020 is one I’m extra excited to share. My best friend and former Spain-roommate Megan and her amazing husband are finally home from living abroad for several years and in addition to the excitement of just having them home, they brought a sweet little baby into the world in late March! Sweet Britta is the cutest little nugget and it was such a privilege to photograph her and her adorable little round face! She literally kept one eye open the entire time (thanks photoshop ;) ), but I hope you can all feel the absolute joy in these photos!

Madelyn Leigh: Newborn

My first baby girl of 2020! COVID ruined our typical newborn session timeline, but thankfully we were able to get in a session just a couple months later. Two months can be a tricky age for photos, but Maddy was a champ and even rocked her awake photos with some sweet smiles! Enjoy!

Evie Mae: 1 Year

Miss Evelyn Mae is the sweet daughter of a close friend and coworker. She was such a beautiful surprise and is so incredibly loved! Luckily, the studio opened just in time for Evie’s first birthday! Evie is following in her mama’s footsteps toward super soccer player so we of course had to photograph her in her future pro uniform :). Afterward, we were sure to get her all girlied up AND use some sweet little 1st birthday bloomers that have been passed around the family for years!

Sometimes the cake just “happens” to fall off the tray…therefore making it easier to just pick up the whole darn thing and eat it (and smear it all over the wall) ;).

Miles Thomas: Newborn

What a crazy time to have a baby, right? Thankfully Miles made his way into the world just before the C-word was really blowing up and we were able to get him in the studip for some newborn photos! Mama Jude and I went to school together for nearly 13 years and it was so fun to see her again and watch her glow as a mommy to sweet Miles! And I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: my friends make the cutest babies!

Ellie Rose: 1 Year

My first session in the new studio and boy did it exceed all my expectations! Ellie’s mama and I used to work together and it was so great to catch up with her and see her family for this session! Ellie is a extra special little girl because she’s a rainbow baby and what better way to celebrate her first year than with a rainbow-themed session and cake smash!?

Miss Ellie warmed up quickly and I’m so glad we got to shoot some shots with this gorgeous headband her mom brought to the session! And seriously, girl, you’re HOLDING UP A #1?!

Big Brother Isaac, when not running around searching for a “ballroom” in the house ;), was more than willing to hop in a few shots solo and with his sister. He is SUCH a great big brother and did a great job making her smile behind the scenes!

Klay Emerson: Newborn

2020 is the year of the newborn! Sweet Klay kicked off baby season in the best way. A full head of dark hair, lots of sleepy cuddles, and three incredible big siblings made for a fun and special newborn session to celebrate his entrance into the world.

Delong Family

After rescheduling due to the COLDEST weather in more than a decade (literally), I was so excited to meet Miss Rheagan and her parents a couple weeks ago! Rheagan recently turned one and was easily one of the smiliest one year olds I’ve met! When she wasn’t playing with blocks, crawling through her tent, or cooking at her (adorable) mini kitchen, Rheagan would just sit and grin so sweetly right.at.the.camera! Walker James Newborn

Walker James made his way into this world in a difficult way and one that’s near and dear to my heart. Arriving early and lifeless, he fought his way through an extended NICU stay filled with respiratory support, therapies, and feeding tubes. When Walker’s aunt messaged me about gifting a newborn session to his parents, I was so excited to combine both my love for photography and my love for preemie infants! Meeting Walker, you would never know he’d been through any of this. He is a happy boy who loves to be held and cuddled and who smiled in SO many of our shots. His parents are fighters, too; they’ve remained strong throughout the adversity of having a medically fragile baby and they have so much love for sweet Walker (and his bulldog sister, Boston! :) ). Enjoy!

Walker was gifted this adorable onesie by a family whose daughter died during her NICU stay. They honored her memory by providing these onesies to all the little fighters who were admitted after her. Such a beautiful sentiment for these babies who endure in a short time more than they should have to endure in a lifetime. Walker’s bracelet was made for him as a nod to his father’s employer, Wabash College.

Olivia Kate: Newborn

This spring was a season of newborns! Miss Olivia Kate entered the world in early April and I was fortunate enough to meet her a few weeks later! She slept so well for our session and big sisters Hailey and Emily loved on her the whole time (and even let me play with their toys while sister was eating :)). Enjoy!

Calvin Grey: Newborn

Sweet Calvin is a few months old now, but I still wanted to share his session. Calvin was a few weeks old at his newborn session (#thirdkid, as his mama put it ;)), but he was a DREAM for the entire session! Sleepy, comfy, and loved being held by big brother Eli and big sister Emma (both of whom loved helping me with many parts of our session :)). Enjoy!

Norah Joy Newborn

Sweet Norah Joy made her entrance into the world back in April and I was so honored to be able to capture these first shots of her a week or so later!  She was such a calm, cooperative baby for the entire session and big brother Ethan was such a big helper (and so in love with his baby sister!).

Griffen Robert: Newborn

As always, I'm late in posting these, but this little man and his brother were too cute not to share! Griffen came to the world a little early, so he was still a little peanut when it was time for photos. He slept the entire time and big brother Parker was so patient waiting his turn for photos with his new brother.  This family is pretty darn beautiful, if you ask me! Enjoy!

Parker was such a sweetie with his little brother and waited so nicely for his turn in front of the camera! Just before he sat down, he found a glove and, as any two year old would, insisted on wearing it for the photos! He was so proud of it and literally wore it for almost the remainder of our time together. Love that his mom, Whitney, enjoyed this as much as I did and gave me the ability to capture this silly moment that totally reflects Parker's spunky personality.

Easton Hollis: Newborn

Another adorable baby to grace the blog in 2018! And this family is one that's very near and dear to my heart. These babies have grown up behind my camera for years now and they're some of the sweetest kiddos around. It was so fun to watch both Lila and Isaiah be big brother & sister to Easton during this shoot.  Baby Easton is one lucky boy! Enjoy!

Leo Robert: Newborn

I'm not always for resolutions, but here's a goal for 2018: blog after each session!  I have a long list of sessions from the end of 2017 that, let's face it, are not going to make it on this blog. I had a plan to backlog them, but I figured a fresh start might be a better approach.  

So here we are, a new year and a new little newborn to get us started! Baby Leo was such a sweetheart for our session and he stayed cozy and sleepy the majority of the time!  And big sister Nina? Don't even get me started. This little gal is SPUNKY--as in dancing around while wearing 3 of my prop tutus while baby brother took a nursing break. :) I loved spending the morning with the Eckerle family and hope you all enjoy these photos as much as I enjoyed taking them.
